NAMI Connection Recovery
NAMI Franklin County is now registering for the Winter 2012 session of Family Connections. The class will be offered Mondays, March 12 to May 28 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Whetstone Library, 3909 N. High Street, Columbus.
Registration is required. Space is limited and classes are filled on a first-come basis. Call our office or send an email to mail@namifc.org.
Family Connections is a 12-week course of education and support specifically for families who have a loved one with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). This new course will be taught by parents of a young adult who has BPD. A teleconference feature is available for those unable to attend in person.
NOTE: This course is NOT for individuals with BPD.
NAMI Connection Recovery Support GroupNAMI Connection meets at 7:00 pm weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Wednesday night group meets at the YMCA Downtown (40 W. Long Street) and is facilitated by Kacie Covic and Terry Sperry.
The Thursday night group meets at Meadow Park Church of God (2425 Bethel Road) and is facilitated by Gabe Howard and Jennifer Guthrie.
Registration is NOT required to attend.
NAMI Connection is a weekly recovery support group for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding. NAMI Connections is a peer-facilitated support group.
Each support group meets weekly for 90 minutes, is offered free of charge and follows a flexible structure without educational format. Groups do not recommend or endorse any medications or other medical therapies.
All NAMI Connection groups are totally confidential. Participants can share as much or as little personal information as they wish. All meetings are guided by NAMI Connection’s Principles of Support.
Support groups are open to all adults with mental illness, regardless of diagnosis. Participants are encouraged to feel welcome to drop by and share feelings, difficulties, or successes.
